Each stump is crafted from locally sourced Montana pine and making it a perfect side table, plant stand, or a rustic extra seat when friends gather. The bark is carefully peeled away, but we intentionally leave hints of the cambium layer behind—those warm, textured tones and subtle grain patterns that give every piece its rugged, lived-in character. While the look is raw and natural, the finish is not. Every Heritage Stump is professionally sanded, sealed and stained for a smooth touch. Because these are solid pieces of real wood, you may see—or over time they may develop—natural “cracks.” This is completely normal and is called checking, a natural part of the wood-drying process. Checking does not affect the structural integrity of the stump; it’s simply part of what makes each piece unique and authentically rustic. Actual sizes may vary slightly due to the rustic nature of the stumps.
