Because it’s made from real solid wood, you may notice (or later develop) natural cracks as the stump continues to dry. This is called checking, and it’s a normal part of the process—it does not affect structural integrity. Some pieces also feature a touch of live edge along the corners, adding even more natural character. No two are exactly alike—just like the Montana woods they come from.
